Penumbra creative writing competition

In connection to the Penumbra Literary & Art Journal here at CSU Stanislaus, we are holding a Creative Writing Competition. Open to all current Stan State students, we welcome you to apply for and submit to this competition of fictional poetry and prose writing for the chance to win a seat in writing workshops hosted by our judge Elizabeth Upshur, and a $50 e-gift card. Along with this comes a guaranteed publication of the winning piece in Penumbra's Spring 2022 print journal. We welcome poetry submissions of no more than 500 words or prose submissions of no more than 1,500 words and require each submitter to present no more than a maximum of three works to submit. We ask that participants submit their applications and piece to our email: penumbra@csustan.edu under the subject lines of either "Contest Submission - Poetry" or "Contest Submission - Prose" by October 15, 2021 at 11:59 pm. We are excited to see the creations of the students here at CSU Stan, and hope to see you participate.
