For writers, the process often results in them working alone for extended periods of time as they operate within their own heads. Discovering ways to interact with others in a frequently isolated field can easily be appealing. On July 18th, Penumbra introduced a zoom based writing club where people have the opportunity to do just that. Hosted by multiple current editors for the online journal, participants are able to exercise their creative writing skills while also workshopping with each other to introduce other perspectives to their work. Participants are able to exercise their writing in a new situation and seek advice from peers with varying experiences on what they work on during that time. Open to any writers who wish to sign up for a small donation of 5 dollars per meeting, writers are offered a space to practice, improve, or even just get into writing.
